UV Bestie Privacy Policy

Overview

UV Bestie helps you understand UV conditions, track sun exposure estimates, and plan tanning routines. The app is designed to avoid third-party advertising tracking.

Information the app uses

• Location: Used to show local UV index, weather, cloud cover, and sun exposure guidance. You can deny location access and still use saved or selected places.
• Camera or photo library: Used only when you choose to capture or select a skin-tone photo for onboarding shade analysis.
• App settings and progress: The app stores preferences, onboarding state, routine progress, and sun exposure timer state so the experience works between launches.
• Purchase information: Subscription status is handled through Apple and Adapty so premium access can be activated and restored.

How information is processed

Weather data is requested through Apple WeatherKit. Optional profile and routine backup may use your private iCloud database. If shade analysis is enabled, the selected image may be sent to OpenAI for cosmetic-only analysis; the app also includes a conservative fallback when remote analysis is unavailable.

Tracking

UV Bestie does not use your data for third-party advertising tracking and does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission. We do not sell or share personal data with advertisers or data brokers.

Deleting data

You can reset local app data from Settings. You can also delete the app to remove local data from the device. iCloud data can be managed from your Apple ID iCloud settings.
